Minutes of the 86th planning meeting of Wellington Town Council held in the United Reformed Church Hall in Fore Street, Wellington on Monday 5th April 2004 at 6.15pm
PRESENT: Councillor R. Henley (chairman), who presided, Councillor R. Bowrah, (vice-chairman), Councillor Mrs V. Stock-Williams, Councillors D. Gill, A. Govier, C. Hindley, A. Horsman, D. Mitton and E. Warren, the clerk, A. Brown and Taunton DBC West area planning manager, Mr J. Hamer. Apologies from Councillors P. Critchard, G. James and N. Wilson. There were 4 members of the public present.12676 APPROVED PLANNING APPLICATIONSThe town council received details of applications for planning permission to be determined in accordance with the delegation agreement with Taunton Deane Borough Council of 9th September 1996 and it was resolved to grant full planning permission to the following applications subject to the developments being started within five years of the date of this permission, to the external surfaces of the developments being of materials as shown on the plan hereby approved and to no other materials being used without the written consent of the local planning authority or, in default, by the Secretary of State for the Environment: (A) Erection of two storey extension to rear of 95 Springfield Road, Wellington as amended by plan N30/A received 31st March 2004 (43/2004/012: There were letters of objection from Mr D. Norman, of 97 Springfield, and Mr and Mrs E. Jackson-Pickles, of 93 Springfield, on the grounds of loss of light, suitability of foundations and concerns about construction, details of structure work, noise, dust and obstruction of rear footpath. The planning officer, Mr Hamer, who recommended approval, stated that the extension would not be larger in depth than any other extensions, that it would adjoin an existing two storey extension to the rear of 93 Springfield, and that it was considered the proposal would have a minimal impact to the neighbouring properties).
12677 COMMENTS TO TAUNTON DBC ON PLANNING APPLICATIONSIt was agreed to inform Taunton DBC that the town council was in favour of the following plans: (a) Erection of a porch at The Stables, Millstream Gardens, Wellington (43/2004/019); (b) Display of non illuminated advertisement display board on side of 3 Fore Street at the entrance to Cornhill, Wellington (43/2004/030LB and 43/2004/033A: To state that the town council wanted to see the existing Wellington UDC signs under the Cornhill archway retained); (c) Erection of 5 bedroomed detached house with associated parking on land between Nos 26 and 27 Longforth Road, Wellington (43/2004/025: providing a 6ft rear fence is provided). It was agreed to inform Taunton DBC that the town council was opposed to the following plans: (a) Proposed secure storage compound for touring/motor caravans, siting of caravan for site staff and erection of bathroom facilities building for site reception building at Cadeside Caravan Club site, Nynehead Road, Wellington (43/2004/022: because it will result in the loss of the southern boundary hedge which screens the caravan site on the major approach road to the town. There is room for the proposal to be carried out without any loss of hedging); (b) Retention of first floor windows, 4 Highland Place, High Street, Wellington (43/2004/034: because it will create overlooking and loss of privacy for neighbours).THE MEETING CLOSED AT 6.35PM
